Thunder the Pony and His Friends

It was a bright and sunny day in the Happy Ranch, which was located in the outskirts of Sunnyville, California.  This ranch always seemed to be sunny, happy and so colorful, full of life. There are birds singing and animals playing in the ranch.

Just outside the ranch by a nearby crystal clear pond, Thunder the pony was always practicing how to gallop. He was a pony who never gave up and when he wanted something really bad he tried even harder.

Almost every single day, Thunder would practice, but everyday he failed and continued to fall and stumble.  “I know that I have to learn how to gallop! I just know it!” hollered Thunder.
Sam the bird was sitting on a tree branch that was located right beside the pond.  He was very watchful and a caring friend. He always watched Thunder carefully and admired his effort and persistence. “I remember when I had difficulty with flying and how my friends told me to never give up! I am so thankful that my friends were there to support me,” said Sam to himself.

Finally, after trying so many times, Thunder decided to give up. “I can’t believe that as being a pony I can’t even gallop without falling! I feel so useless, this isn’t fair.” cried Thunder. When Sam saw that Thunder was giving up he decided to try and talk to him to help, “Thunder, now don’t be sad and give up by not being able to gallop. I’m sure that very soon you will master this ability, if you continue to practice,” said Sam.

“Don’t give up, I know how you feel and trust me you can do it!” said Sam.  “How do you know if I can gallop or not? How could you be of any help to me if you’re a bird? Just leave me alone!” exclaimed Thunder.

Sam understood that Thunder was very upset and frustrated so he decided to not give up on Thunder. He decided to tell his friend Alejandra the pony about Thunder’s problem. Alejandra was a very kind and noble pony and she decided to help Thunder. Alejandra already knew how to gallop and trot perfectly, so she decided to help Thunder with his problem.

Alejandra helped Thunder no matter what and never give up on him. Alejandra’s owners’ Isabel and Stefan noticed that Alejandra left very often. “Hmm, I wonder where Alejandra might wonder off to?” asked Isabel. “Yes, I also wonder where to she might head off to constantly,” pondered Stefan.

One day, they decided to follow Alejandra to see where she would leave to. When they saw that their pony left to help another pony, they were proud and decided to help the wild pony by offering him a home. “I can’t believe that Alejandra has been off helping out another pony in need! We should take in that pony to our house and take care of it because he seems to be in need of a family,” said both Isabel and Stefan.

Thunder finally learned how to gallop and trot just as well as Alejandra. Thunder moved into Alejandra’s home. “Thank you for not giving up on me and for being very patient with me throughout this time. I also wanted to apologize to you Sam, I was so mean to you when all you wanted to do was to help and support me. Thank you once again,” said Thunder. “You’re welcome. What are friends for anyways?” said both Alejandra and Sam.
